We provide a full, varied and exciting curriculum and aim to cultivate an enjoyment of learning and independence of thought, leading to a seamless transfer to primary stage. The early years foundation stage we follow sets standards for the learning, development and care of your child from birth to 6 years old.

Areas of learning

Your child will mostly be taught through games and play.

The areas of learning are:

• communication and languages (L1-L2)
• physical development
• personal, social and emotional development
• literacy
• mathematics
• understanding the world
• expressive arts and design
• horse back riding sesions

Assessments

Your child’s progress will be reviewed every 3 months.

Their class teacher will assess them at the end of every school term. (4 terms per grade)

The assessment is based on classroom observation - your child won’t be tested. It uses the early learning goals, which can be found in the early years framework we follow and the feedback given in open house sessions at the end of the term.
